How to disable Connect On Demand functionality?

If you need to disable automatic re-connection of VPN then open Settings menu and go to VPN submenu. On active VPN profile touch (i) icon and move Connect On Demand slider to Off position.

What is VPN?

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a network technology that creates a secure network connection over a public network such as the Internet or a private network owned by a service provider. For example, when you send a file from New York to Oslo it will go through several transit points: ISP servers, the company's servers, which your ISP rents channels for Internet access, transit channel between USA and Europe, and so on. There are many nodes on the way and all have technical ability to read your data and make changes in it. Of course, all operators apply maximum efforts for the protection of personal data, but there is no 100% guarantee that all servers in the chain are secure.

How ruVPN works?

It’s quite easy – when you connect to ruVPN server then all your data sends to Norway via secure channel and it looks like you device is located in Norwegian datacenter. None of the nodes in the transit chain can access to your traffic. ruVPN solution eliminates any risk of data compromising. You can safely check e-mail, browse your favorite web-pages, use on-line banking, etc.

Can I trust you?

ruVPN belongs to Norwegian company INFOSS AS. We don’t have any connection to police and government security services. Personal data is encrypted and stored on secure servers. Our servers are located in the protected area under constant supervision. We use special technologies, which will save data even in the hypothetical case of unauthorized physical access. This ensures that your network activity and traffic cannot be traced by any hackers or industrial spies.

Do I have any restrictions/obligations?

By accepting End-User Agreement you agree not to use ruVPN service for distribution of child pornography, viruses, spam and other malware. ruVPN does not provide service to criminal and terrorist organizations, as well as other organizations conducting illegal activities.
If illegal activities are detected by our monitoring system or by third-party complain, we perform internal investigation, then, if violations of the user agreement are confirmed then we may terminate service subscription. We work honestly and openly, and expect honesty from our customers.
